Explanation

The first equation tells you that y cannot be a negative number. The second equation tells you that y cannot be a positive number. Therefore, y must be 0.

Hence option C is correct.

If we think y could be a positive number and y could be a negative number then the answer should be D. Sandy can you explain it, please?

From the two statement of y that has to satisfy for all values of y.

y cannot be positive and negative at the same time. The only option for y to satisfy the above equation is when y=0
