If Y is such that XY is half of XZ, the entire segment, this means Y divides the segment in two equal sub-segments, both 4a+6 long. This means that if the full segment is 68 long, we just have to put 2*(4a+6) = 68 to get a. Indeed, from that equation a = 7!
