APPROACH #1

If we notice that HALF of 24 is 12, then we can also see that 50% of 24 is 12
In other words, x = 50

So, the answer is C

APPROACH #2
GIVEN: x percent of 24 is 12.

Rewrite as: $$\frac{x}{100}$$ of 24 = 12

Rewrite as: ($$\frac{x}{100})(24) = 12$$

Divide both sides by 12 to get: ($$\frac{x}{100})(2) = 1$$

Simplify: $$\frac{2x}{100} = 1$$

Multiply both sides by 100 to get: $$2x = 100$$

Solve: to get: $$x =50$$

Answer: C

Cheers,
Brent

X% of 24 = 12

So (x/100) * 24 =12
or, 24x = 1200
or, x = 1200/24 = 50
