A) Quantity A is greater.

C) The two quantities are equal.
D) The relationship cannot be determined from the information given

Explanation::

30% of x = y

or \(x = \frac{{100y}}{30}\)

or \(\frac{x}{y} = \frac{10}{3}= 3.33..\)

Hence Qty A > Qty B

GIVEN: 30 percent of x is y.
We can write: 0.3x = y

From here, we can use the technique of matching operations

Given:
Quantity A: x/y
Quantity B: 3

Since we're told that y is POSITIVE, we can safely multiply both quantities by y to get:
Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 3y

Since we know that 0.3x = y, we can replace y with 0.3x to get:
Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 3(0.3x)

Simplify to get:
Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 0.9x

Since we're told that x is POSITIVE, we can safely divide both quantities by x to get:
Quantity A: 1
Quantity B: 0.9

Answer: A
