It's a simple multiplicaiton

$$3x^2$$ = $$3 * 4^2$$ = 48

so Statement 1 < Statement 2

i.e. option B

Well, considering that is from the old OG 10th edition.

However, it does not matter how much simple is a question as long as comes from the official material.

It is good for practice.
