Take: $$x + 4 = 10$$

Solve, to get: x = 6

Now plug x = 6 into the two quantities to get:
Quantity A: x - 2 = 6 - 2 = 4

Quantity B: x/2 = 6/2 = 3

Cheers,
Brent
