Explanation

The second-string quarterback doesn’t seem to have played much, but is well known off the field for something infamous or deceitful. For the second blank, chicanery fits the bill nicely.

For the first blank, we know he turned the tide of the game and did it in a manner that surprised everyone. Alacrity will work for this blank since we are told that his impact was immediate.

And for the third blank, winning a decisive game is likely to win him some passionate fans, so ardent works well.

Hence options B, E and H are correct!

A little puzzled by the wording in this one. While I figured BEH would fit this well (last sentence basically gave everything away), the second sentence starts with 'more infamous'. Doesn't that suggest he was already infamous? I'm just wondering why they put 'more' there. I mean if the last line wasn't obvious I could have been tricked into picking (A) for blank i.
