Subtract the 2nd equation from the 1st eqn
we get the value of \(y\) as \(x\) reduces to \(0\) so \(y = 3\)
Among ans choices only \(B\) and \(C\) has \(y =3\)so the correct ans must be one of those two
Now replace the value of \(y = 3\) in any one of the original eqn. Doing this will make \(x = 1\)
Therefore x=1 and y =3
option c

Given

x + 2y = 7........................1

x + y = 4.........................2


Deduct 2 from 1 :

y = 3.

Now put the value of y into the 1.

x = 1.

The answer is C.
