Quantity A: x + y
Quantity B: 35

One of my favorite QC strategies is called "Looking for Equality" (free video on this topic here: http://www.greenlighttestprep.com/modul ... on?id=1099).
In this strategy, I first look for values of x and y such that the quantities A and B are equal.

Consider these two cases:
Case #1: x = 17 and y = 18
Quantity A: x + y = 17 + 18 = 35
Quantity B: 35
Since the two quantities are EQUAL, the correct answer is EITHER C or D

Now try some other values of x and y:
Case #2: x = 1 and y = 2
Quantity A: x + y = 1 + 2 = 3
Quantity B: 35
Since the two quantities are NOT EQUAL, the correct answer is D

Cheers,
Brent

• Quantity A is greater.
• Quantity B is greater.
• Both Quantities are Equal
• Cannot be determined

x<y<20.

Note: we don't know whether x and y are positive or negative . Both can be positive or negative or combination. So, we don't have specific data here. Answer will vary for these reasons. At the same time we don't know whether they are consecutive or not.

The best answer is D.
