 Quantity A Quantity B x+y 180-z

A)The quantity in Column A is greater.
B)The quantity in Column B is greater.
C)The two quantities are equal.
D)The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

Since vertically opposite angles are equal, we can add the following to our diagram

Next, since angles on a line add to 180°...

...we can write: x + y + z = 180

If we take x + y + z = 180 and subtract z from both sides, we get: x + y = 180 - z

So, the Quantity A and Quantity B are EQUAL
