Real numbers include fractions, irrational numbers and integers. I think you meant "integer" instead. But even if we were given that x is a non-integer (a fraction or an irrational number) or integer, the answer still would be D.

If we rearrange we are left with quantity A being 8x and quantity B being 8. Then, since there are no restrictions about x, it can be whatever.
E.g. if x = 1, then the two quantities are equal
if x = -2, then quantity B is greater
if x = 2, then quantity A is greater.

We can solve this question using matching operations

Given:
Quantity A: 10x + 2
Quantity B: 2x + 10

Subtract 2x from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 8x + 2
Quantity B: 10

Subtract 2 from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 8x
Quantity B: 8

Divide both quantities by 8 to get:
Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 1

Since we have no information about x, quantity A COULD be greater than, less than or equal to quantity B
