why is E the correct answer? aren't we supposed to find an antonym for ignored to fill in the blank ? isn't scrutinize more appropriate ?

Why is there only 1 correct answer? This is a sentence equivalence question type, so there should be 2 correct answers. Thanks for your help.

Thank you to pointed out. Fixed the OAs

the first part of the sentence says this

Quote:
Where gay and lesbian individuals and couples were once ignored

the second this

Quote:
as the new frontier in consumer spending.

So the only fit-word is promoted and its synonym touted.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Revered is a trick. You would think they'd be respected now, but that's not an antonym for ignored.
