Given: 6/7 = 5/b
Cross multiply to get: 6b = (5)(7)
Simplify: 6b = 35
Solve: b = 35/6

What is the value of a + b ?
a + b = 1/6 + 35/6
= 36/6
= 6

Explanation

Cross-multiply to find the value of b, \(\frac{35}{6}\). Then substitute in the values of a and b:

\(\frac{1}{6}+\frac{35}{6}=6\).

Hence option D is correct!
