Three consecutive even integers have a sum of 102. If x represents the least number in the set, what equation can be used to determine the value of the sum of the integers?

A. x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 102

B. x + (x + 1) + (x + 3) = 102

C. x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 102

D. x + 2x + 4x = 102

E. x + x + x = 102

We have sum of three consecutive integers as 102 and the least integer as x
Now we know that we have alternate odd and even numbers
So, if x is even then next number x+1 will be odd and x+2 will become even
and next number x+3 is odd and x+4 will be even
=> Three consecutive even numbers will be x, x+2 and x+4
So, sum of three consecutive even numbers will be x + (x+2) + (x+4) = 102

So, answer will be C
