Blank (i) | Blank (ii) | Blank (iii) |
(A) hyperbolized | (D) organization | (G) exaggerate |
(B) interwoven | (E) intensity | (H) oversimplify |
(C) reversed | (F) uniformity | (I) undercut |
hej guys,
for the last blank.
I went with exaggerate.
Now the reasoning that I took behind that choice that it shows that these leaps exaggerate the competencies of an individual in...as it goes
I do get why undercut works, would like to hear from someone a bit more proficient within GRE why the above mentioned logic is flawed.
Thank you for your help!
Happy to give you help
This book's
strengths are the author's breadth of knowledge and the blending of ideas and findings from many disciplines, including history, the arts and the sciences. Ideas from diverse perspectives are (i) ________ to provide a historical and cross-cultural understanding.
So far so good. The book is awesome and the author via the book itself is able to make a fusion of different concepts or ideas from different domains. B is the blank. Hands down
But A shift in the argument. Counter word. We need to address the flip of the issue.
a weakness here we go. A flaw in the book
of the book is its (ii) _________ : sometimes there are leaps from one domain to another
stop it and think. The book is awesome BUT its weak point is maybe it gathers too much information from all over the places. Therefore, its problem is the organization
that (iii) _______
the reader's ability to synthesize a coherent view of our current understanding of this subject. From the sentence above and the lack of book's organization, clearly the 3 blanks is that the book as a weak point is its manner to UNDERCUT the possibility by the readers
to synthesize the concepts the book fuses because lack of organization. So we do not have a clear overall view.
Hope this helps
