Some important rules:
#1. ODD +/- ODD = EVEN
#2. ODD +/- EVEN = ODD
#3. EVEN +/- EVEN = EVEN

#4. (ODD)(ODD) = ODD
#5. (ODD)(EVEN) = EVEN
#6. (EVEN)(EVEN) = EVEN

GIVEN: a is EVEN, and b is ODD.

(a) a + 2b = EVEN + 2(ODD) = EVEN + EVEN = EVEN

(b) 2a + b = 2(EVEN) + ODD = EVEN + ODD = ODD

(c) ab = (EVEN)(ODD) = EVEN

(d) a^b = (EVEN)^ODD = (EVEN)(EVEN)(EVEN)(EVEN).... (b times) = EVEN

(e) (a + b)² = (EVEN + ODD)² = (ODD)² = (ODD)(ODD) = ODD

(f) a² - b² = EVEN² - ODD² = (EVEN)(EVEN) - (ODD)(ODD) = EVEN - ODD = ODD

Cheers,
Brent

You can also take values
a is even then a could be 2
b is odd then b could be 3

put the values if you forget rules, you will get the same answers
