The greatest chance for the existence of extraterrestrial life is on a planet beyond our solar system. The Milky Way galaxy alone contains 100 billion other suns, many of which could be accompanied by planets similar enough to Earth to make them suitable abodes of life.

The statement above assumes which of the following?

(A) Living creatures on another planet would probably have the same appearance as those on Earth.
(B) Life cannot exist on other planets in our solar system.
(C) If the appropriate physical conditions exist, life is an inevitable consequence.
(D) More than one of the suns in the galaxy is accompanied by an Earth-like planet.
(E) It is likely that life on another planet would require conditions similar to those on Earth.

The greatest chance for the existence of extraterrestrial life is on a planet beyond our solar system.

Our solar system is the milky way. So if we do wanna see the aliens we must go over our galaxy

The Milky Way galaxy alone contains 100 billion other suns, many of which could be accompanied by planets similar enough to Earth to make them suitable abodes of life.

The statement above assumes which of the following?

(A) Living creatures on another planet would probably have the same appearance as those on Earth.

out of scope. the appearance is not the assumption to find aliens

(B) Life cannot exist on other planets in our solar system.

We do not know for sure this statement. we do know that our galaxy has 100 billion other suss and relative earths. Maybe

(C) If the appropriate physical conditions exist, life is an inevitable consequence.

To vague. Wrong

(D) More than one of the suns in the galaxy is accompanied by an Earth-like planet.

This tells us nothing about the aliens. It is just a statistic

(E) It is likely that life on another planet would require conditions similar to those on Earth.

To find extraterrestrial life we do need not only another earth but also that this other one being similar to our planet for the flourish of life.

E is the most suitable answer but I think if there's another answer suggests that only environment like Earth can create life, I would definitely choose that one over E. Just some of my own thoughts. Maybe I watched too much Sci-fi idk
