circumference = 2πr = 2π(4) =

(b) Length of arc ABC
Arc length = (central angle)/360° x circumference
= 40°/360° x 8π
= 1/9 x 8π
= 8π/9

(c) Area of the shaded region
Sector area = (central angle)/360° x area of circle
= (central angle)/360° x πr²
= 40°/360° x π4²
= 1/9 x 16π
= 16π/9
