Social scientists have established fairly clear-cut (i) _____ that describe the appropriate behavior of children and adults, but there seems to be (ii) _____ about what constitutes appropriate behavior for adolescents.

(A) functions...rigidity

(B) estimates...indirectness

(C) norms...confusion

(D) regulations...certainty

(E) studies...misapprehension

Why not E? Anything wrong with it? Does 'misapprehension' mean the same thing as 'confusion'?

that describe the appropriate behavior=Norms [Not studies].
NOT Clear-cut= Confusion.
Misapprehension= Believing something that is not true.
Confusion matches better with "NOT Clear-cut" than "Misapprehension" does.
