Set M consists of 20 evenly spaced integers, 10 numbers of which are positive and 10 of which are negative.



Quantity A
Quantity B
The average arithmetic mean of all numbers in the set M
0


A) Quantity A is greater.
B) Quantity B is greater.
C) The two quantities are equal.
D) The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

I am quite confused about this problem!
What is "Evenly spaced" integers?

What is "Evenly spaced" integers?



Evenly spaced -
A set of numbers in which each number is a set distance, or increment, from the next. 1, 4, 7, 10 is an evenly spaced set with an increment of 3. In any evenly spaced set:

The arithmetic mean (average) is equal to the median. The set comprising 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 has a mean of 3 and a median of 3.

Let set M = {-10,-9,-8,-7,-6,-5,-4,-3,-2,-1 and 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10} (10 positive numbers and 10 negative numbers evenly spaced, 0 is neither positive
or negative)

Therefore Arithmetic mean = 0
