the options does not seem to fit the context of the sentence. can anybody please explain the rational for the answer choice?

The first line of the sentence seems difficult to grasp. However for the purpose of answering the question we only need the part after "as more accurate......egalitarian phrasings." We need something in the blank that is opposite of "egalitarian" which means equality for all. In this case only servile and obsequious is opposite.

Servile and obsequious are the perfect match as it is mentioned that humble and honorific language is assumed as servile and obsequious to an ear accustomed to more egalitarian phrasings.
