A student rides his bike 7 miles from his house to school within 40 minutes, if he increases his velocity by 20 percent. when would he return home after class?

40 min = 2/3 hour
V1 = 7/ 2/3=21/2 = 10.5 miles/hr
V2 = 120/100 x 10.5 = m/hr

Distance 1 (from house to school) = Distance 2( after school ride) = 7 miles
V1 x T1 = V2 x T2 = 7
10.5 x 2/3 = 12.6 x T2
T2 = .56 hr (app.) = 30 minutes ( approximately)
