Explanation

expand both sides:

Quantity A: (x+4)(y+3)
Quantity B: (x+3)(y+4)

Expand both sides to get:
Quantity A: xy + 4y + 3x + 12
Quantity B: xy + 3y + 4x + 12

Subtract xy from both quantities...
Quantity A: 4y + 3x + 12
Quantity B: 3y + 4x + 12

Subtract 12 from both quantities...
Quantity A: 4y + 3x
Quantity B: 3y + 4x

Subtract 3y from both quantities...
Quantity A: y + 3x
Quantity B: 4x

Subtract 3x from both quantities...
Quantity A: y
Quantity B: x

Since we're given no relative information about x and y, the correct answer is ...
