3 pounds of nuts that cost x dollars per pound
Cost of 3 pounds of nuts = 3x

1 pound of chocolate that costs y dollars per pound
Cost of 1 pound of chocolate = y

2 pounds of dried fruit that costs z dollars per pound
Cost of 2 pounds of dried fruit = 2z

Total cost = 3x + y + 2z
Total weight = 3 + 1 + 2 = 6

What is the cost in dollars per pound for the trail mix?
Cost per pound = (total cost)/(total weight in pounds)
= (3x + y + 2z)/6

Answer: C
