Hi, Please help me understand the OA. How can companies in the forefront become obsolete, wouldn't Periphery suit the first blank better?

No.

We need something that exemplifies "victims".

"once" ... "have now become" clearly indicates a concession.

what is the answer of the above question? Is the answer, B.forefront and E.mostly obsolete

Yes. The answers are B and E

Once companies were at the edge, on the frontline of the innovation, now are obsolete. As such, behind all others.
