Explanation

The blank here needs to contrast with “the fantastical.” Mundane and quotidian both fit.

Bombastic and belletristic both may correctly describe the writing style of Proust, but they don’t match the meaning of the sentence.

Hence options mundane, quotidian are best options.

Mundane and quotidian are the answers as they are the opposite of fantastical.
