It is important to keep in mind that this is not a mixture problem, as a matter of fact the substances have nothing to do with it at all.

Lets examine the mass of one 'Dose'= $$\frac{1}{6}$$ oz of x + $$\frac{2}{3}$$ oz of z = $$\frac{5}{6}$$ oz

doses are in a 30-ounce vial = $$\frac{30}{\frac{5}{6}}= \frac{30 \times 6}{ 5}=36$$

Hence option D is correct!
