The word indeed shows that the further part of the sentence will support or be in same direction as that of first part. Hence if many of us attempt to rewrite are personal stories in best light, then for the blank we need a word which says that we are inclined to do that. Hence the words prone and apt suits best meaning - having a tendency to do something.
