Here,

$$\frac{m+n}{4+5} = \frac{m+n}{9} = \frac{m}{9} + \frac{n}{9}$$

Nice (and often-tested) property: $$\frac{a+b}{c}=\frac{a}{c}+\frac{b}{c}$$

So, $$\frac{m+n}{4+5}=\frac{m}{4+5}+\frac{n}{4+5}$$

$$=\frac{m}{9}+\frac{n}{9}$$
