Solution

The numbers must be equally spaced just pick 3 numbers

\(-1\), \(1\)and \(2\)

1) \(-1 * 1* 2 < 0\) OK

2) \(-1 + 2 = 1\)OK

3) \(2 * ( 1 + 1 ) > 0\) Ok

The answer is \(A\), \(B\) and \(C\)

Let's try this one algebraically, at least partly, by taking advantage of the predictable properties of the products of positive / negative numbers in #1 and #3.

Concept:

(negative)(negative) = positive
(positive)(negative) = negative
(negative)(negative) = positive

No exceptions!

Thus:

1) (-)(+)(+) = + > 0

2) plugging in numbers is easier for this one.

3) (+)(positive - negative) = (+)(+--) = (+)(+) = + > 0

here X is -ve
Y is +ve
Z is +ve.

Option i) is true. as X*Y*Z is negative.
Option ii) is true as X, Y and Z are equally spaced.
Option iii) is true as Y-(-X) = Y+X is positive.
