Let a,b,c are there months bills and b be median and a and c are largest and smallest respectively.

Given a+b+c/3 = 44+b, sub a+c = 412 in this equation and finally we get b = 140.

Now given a+c = 412 and b = 140 => Total = 552.

B.

Explanation

Call the smallest bill S, the middle bill M, and the largest bill L.

M is the same as the median, since there are only three values. The equation for average is:

$$\frac{Sum..of..bills}{Number..of..bills}=Average$$

Incorporate the equation for averages into the following equation:

$$\frac{S+M+L}{3}=M+44$$

While the individual values of S and L are not given, their sum is:

$$412 = 2M + 132$$

$$280 = 2M$$

$$140 = M$$

Finally, add M to the sum of S and L:

$$140 + 412 = 552$$

Hence option B is correct!
