Explanation


We can write the three sets:

Set P (multiples of 2): {2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18}
Set Q (multiples of 3): {3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18}
Set R (multiples of 6): {6, 12, 18}

The number of integers common to all three sets is three (6, 12, 18). The two quantities are equal. Hence option C is correct.

IMPORTANT: The numbers in the set that are divisible by 6 are ALSO divisible by 2 and 3.

So, (the number of integers that are common to all three sets P, Q, and R) = (the number of integers that are divisible by 6)

The integers that are divisible by 6 = 6, 12, 18

We get:
QUANTITY A: 3
QUANTITY B: 3

Answer: C
