Here,

Let LM = 4 and MN = 8

therefore, GH = \(\frac{1}{2} * LM = \frac{1}{2} * 4 = 2\)

and HJ = \(\frac{1}{2}* MN = \frac{1}{2} * 8 = 4\)

Area of GHJK = \(2*4 = 8\) [ Area of Rectangle = length * breadth]

and Area of LMNO = \(4 *8 = 32\)

Area of the unshaded region = \(32 -8 = 24\)
Therefore,

fraction of the region bounded by \(LMNO\)is NOT shaded = \(\frac{24}{32} = \frac{3}{4}\)
