Solution

In the figure, the angles with measures (2y)degrees and 35 degrees are between parallel lines k and m, and they are on opposite sides of the line that crosses k and m.

Therefore, you can conclude that these two angles are congruent. So 2y=35, and y=35=17.5. The correct answer is 17.5.
