So the ratio is 4:3 for Candidate A to Candidate B. We can use this to create an algebraic equation to look like this:
\(4x + 3x = 8400\)

Now we solve for x:
\(4x + 3x = 8400\)
\(7x = 8400\)
\(x = 1200\)

Plug in 1200 for x to solve for Candidate A:
\(4(1200) = 4800\)

The answer is \(4800\)
