This is an algebraic translation question, so start by translating the given information into equations. Remember to add 8 to both Polly and Quan’s ages, because they will both be 8 years older in 8 years!

$$p + 8 = 2(q + 8)$$

$$p + 8 = 2q + 16$$

$$p = 2q + 8$$

$$p - 8 = 2q$$

Hence option C is correct!
