The numerator becomes $$x^7$$ by using properties of exponentials, i.e. $$(x^3)^2 = x^6$$ and $$x^6*x = x^7$$. Then, dividing it by $$x^2$$ gives us $$x^5$$. Answer D! Re: If x is different from zero, then   [#permalink] 29 Sep 2017, 07:53
