The questions boils down to

for which value of x is 2x + 4 is greater than or equal to 12 + 3x ?

\(2x + 4 ≥ 12 + 3x\)

\(x ≤ –8\)

E is the answer. The question is hard only in appearance. They are just tricky this way.

PS: we reply to the students both they are going to have their exam tomorrow and in a year from now. regardless of the rest.
