Since 0.404 is a number between 0 and 1, when it is elevated to a power greater than 1 the number becomes smaller, while when it is elevated to an improper fraction, i.e. a number between 0 and 1, the number becomes greater.

Given those rules, $$0.404^{\frac{1}{3}}>0.404>0.404^3$$
