x = 140 / 0.35 = 400

now 20%(400) = 80

Explanation

Translate the given information into math:

$$\frac{35}{100}x=140$$

or $$x=400$$

Next, find 20% of x, or 0.20(400) = 80.

Given,

35% of x equals 140. Need to find out 20% of x.

We are calculating based on x. the value of x won't change if we follow the procedures below:

(140 /35)*20

= 80

If 35% represents 140, what 20% represents is possible to find out.
