Husain and Dino had an average (arithmetic mean) of $20 each. Dino then won a cash prize, which increased the average amount of money they had to $80. If no other changes occurred, how many dollars did Dino win?

Average expression -> (H + D)/2 = 20 => H + D = 40 ..(1)

Let C be the cash prize won by Dino it's given that the new avg is 80, so, [H + (D+C)]/2 = 80 expanding which we get -> H + D + C = 160 ...(2) from (1) we know H+D is 40 Putting this value in (2) gives us C=120.

Hence the cash prize is 120
