GRE - PowerPrep® The FREE Practice Tests Explained

Image

  • Do you want fully and detailed explanations of the GRE free software PowerPrep?
  • Do you still not know how to exploit the full potential of this tool to top-up the highest score?
  • How can you use our free super detailed question explanations to sharpen your GRE PowerPrep study?
  • I will guide you in this intricate process to gain the most benefits from it. Keep going ................

We are eager to present you this new project: ALL the questions you will see taking the Official Prep software provided by ETS in your preparation for the GRE exam. This post stems from a very simple consideration: the software gives you the score that probably you are going to get during the exam day AND the OA to your answers. However, it does not give you an official explanation of the same questions, regardless whether you pick them right or wrong.

This scenario aforementioned could be detrimental in your preparation for the GRE exam because is crucial to stick the explanation of every question to improve your skills and confidence with the exam itself.

As a matter of fact, you must also keep in mind and be aware of key points:

  • this resource should be spoil only when you do have the necessity to understand why a question is either right or wrong answering to it BUT you do not know how to figure it out on your own
  • looking at these questions only and solely after you took the official software exam, otherwise your score could be strongly biased or/and inflated
  • use this kind of directory as the last resource of your preparation for the exam, trying to improve your score.

§ Disclaimer: as for the 2018, the PowerPrep Software to downloading on your computer is no longer provided by ETS. Now, you have to go to this page

and take the test on-line, after creating an account. The questions you saw in the previous version of the software are identical to the questions you will see online, taking the test; it is still provided for free. In the following link below, you can download the off-line version from our website. However, I strongly recommend taking the new version because of the possible small difference in the layout or else that could provide a more enjoyable experience.

SUPER IMPORTANT TO KNOW

For those of you who are wondering what are those numbers below: 0-6 correct, or 7-14 correct; it is the way the GRE works and is pretty straightforward to understand:

1) For ALL the students who start the test, the first section is ALWAYS on the medium level of difficulty. On average will be on 3-3.5 level on a scale from 1 (the easiest question) to 5 (the hardest). See below, for instance, Test_1 - Section 2 - Verbal Reasoning or Test_1 - Section 3 - Quantitative Reasoning

2) In the second section (both quant and verbal) IF your correct answers in the first section were in that range 0-6 correct upon 20 questions the second section will be easy level.

Alike, if in the first section your correct answers were from 7-14 range, then your second section will be medium level.

More, if in the first section you pick 15-20 range questions correct, then your second section of the test will be HARD Level.

That is the way the GRE, which is a section computer-adaptive test, works to assess your final score.

This is a super-useful thread--thanks for assembling, Carcass!

Is GRE Prep Club going to add explanations to the questions from the 2 new paid PowerPrep Plus Online tests as well? I would be happy to contribute to that project.

If you would prefer a professionally printed guide to the PowerPrep tests that I co-authored, with detailed explanations to all 320 questions, then go here.

The download link to the old PowerPrep software is helpful, too--since the PowerPrep Online tests aren't always functional. I have the old Mac versions of the software, if anyone is interested.

Sounds good! As far as I can tell, the free GRE PowerPrep Online tests are exactly the same questions as the old GRE PowerPrep 2 software.

EDIT: 3 Reading Comprehension questions were switched out. Otherwise they are exactly the same.

No. It is copyrighted material.

Never mind, excellent stuff here already, if we could review our workbook of questions and mistakes and understand these 2 power prep tests, it would be sufficient to get good score. Thank you very much to all the mods of GRE Club for helping us with sincerity.

@carcass

Has GREPrepClub done the same for the two paper based tests, found in the OG GRE book? Would appreciate the links for the same.

As always, thanks for taking out the time to do this!

This is the powerprep 1 result of mine. About 1 month left of my exam. Seeking some guidance and also want to know how bad is this score?

Quant is slightly below the average but verbal is way behind acceptable. Moreover, every score must seen in light of your purpose. Could be even enough.

Please provide further information so we can give you help such as if you do have an error log, which is your strong area and so forth.

BTW, post on a single discussion under main section, this is reserved to powerprep collection NOT advice.
