Solving the eqns. we get, (x-y)^2=0; x=y and x^2=9 => x = +3/-3
Hence, with 2 values of x, it is difficult to ascertain which column will be greater.

The correct answer is (D)

quite difficult question, thought y should be -ve
but 13divyasha got the point--> (x-y)^2=0; x=y .. also we don't know if x is +ve.. so it is D
