Let there be 100x candidates who appeared for the exam.

 Numver of Candidates Number Of questions 5x 0 25x 1 24.5x 2 200 3 20x 4 5x 5

So thats an exhaustive set, so we can write

$$5x+25x+24.5x+200+20x+5x = 100x$$

Therefore 20.5x = 200;
Now 100 x is the total number of candidates who appear in the exam. Easy to find, but the value is not coming to an integer. You sure you got all the values right?
