The question is not that hard as it seems.

The Darwinian theories are abused left and right and lately we began to look forward to his ideas about the species evolution, even though his work is still brilliant and is a landmark. Nonetheless, his work must have respect for the logic underlined it.

A and C must be the answers.

Please share the OAs. Thank you so much

So, our question has two statements..

When we read the first statement, we can realize that almost all choices can fit in. Therefore, the blank would depend on the meaning conveyed by the second sentence.

Quote:
many academics have begun writing about cultural evolution, but few treat the underlying Darwinian logic with the care it deserves.

' but few treat .... with care it deserves' tells us that the Darwinian logic is not getting the respect it should or it is not being used properly.
Abused and Misused are two words that can easily fit into the above meaning.

Hence, A and C.

I would encourage you to read the entire prompt before considering the answer choices. Especially in a situation such as this when there is only one blank. For my part, I would say that even to take the time to look through the answers before you have the best possible knowledge that you can gather can be less efficient.

The technique that I have seen yield great success for students is to read the entire sentence prompt, looking for those signal words and those key words in the prompt. In this case the key words are as Chetan2u has indicated "but few treat the underlying Darwinian logic with the care it deserves." And then to either fill in the blank with their own word when possible, or to at least know generally what needs to go in the blank before proceeding to the answer choices.

In this case we just need something in the blank that indicates a lack of care. It could be said that a lack of care can cause something to be "misused" and even "abused." So those are the correct answers.
