Compare Quantities

Quantity A

Average (arithmetic mean) of integers from -50 to -1 inclusive.

Quantity B

Average (arithmetic mean) of integers from -50 to 0 inclusive.

When the numbers in a set are EQUALLY SPACED, then the average = (smallest # + biggest #)/2

So, we get:

Quantity A: (-50 + -1)/2 = -51/2 = -25.5

Quantity B: (-50 + 0)/2 = -50/2 = -25

-25 is greater than -25.5
