Solution

You need to determine the numbers of female and male faculty in the humanities field. According to the graph, 17 percent of the 200 females, or 34,
and 14 percent of the 250 males, or 35, are in humanities. Thus, the fraction of humanities faculty who are male is \(\frac{35}{34+35=}\)\(\frac{35}{69}\) or approximately \(0.507\). As a percent, the answer choice that is closest to \(0.507\) is \(51\) percent.

The correct answer is \(Choice E\)

Thank you! Very good example. Please, advise me where can I practice data interpretation questions? It is my weakest issue!
