Average =(30 X 10 +10 X 18 +20 X 25 + 28 X 30 + 12 X 40)/(30+10+20+28+12)
=2300 / 100
=23

Any recommendations for doing these kind of excercises faster? I mean, instead of multiplying each row, adding the values and then dividing by the number of workers, is there a faster way to approximate the result??
My gut told me it would be 23, but I don't think I can trust my feelings each time...

What is important here is the number of employees rather the paycheck per hour.

Put them in increasing order

10 - 12 - 20 - 28 - 30

the first two the difference is two. The last two as well.

20 is exactly 8 points from the datum before and the datum after.

We do have a perfect balance. C is the answer.

Hope this helsp
