Explanation

Solve each equation by translating into algebra. The first is $$a=\frac{40}{100} \times 45$$. Reduce and multiply to find a = 18. The second is $$18=\frac{b}{100} \times 90$$. Multiply both sides by 100 then divide by 90 to find b = 20.

Quantity B is greater.
