Solution

Instead to start calculation right away, reflect on this: the greatest number of pens we can buy is as many as for $2 $$2*11=22$$$$+$$ one pe for $$3$$ we have a total of $$25$$ with which we can buy 12 pens Answer is $$D$$ _________________ Need Practice? 20 Free GRE Quant Tests available for free with 20 Kudos GRE Prep Club Members of the Month: Each member of the month will get three months free access of GRE Prep Club tests. If we buy 12$2 pens, we will spend $24 So, EITHER the correct answer is D (12) OR it's possible to by even more than 12 pens. HOWEVER, when we check the answer choices, we see that there's only one answer choice bigger than 12, and that answer choices is 20 Since there no ways to buy 20 pens for$25, the correct answer must be D

Cheers,
Brent
